Opening Scene to The Matrix
In the opening scene of the Matrix you see some police enter a dark building with a flash light and some weapons, which suggests that this mission is dangerous hens why they are deck out in police gear. After that you see them walk down a corridor and stop at this one room which has there target in it, when they breach the room you see a women sitting alone in the dark facing a wall which suggests that she is up to no good which is why she has the police looking for her. In the next part of the opening scene you are sent out side to see a car appear onto the scene, when the car stops you see a couple of men dressed up in suits leave the car and talk to the police officer. The next scene is back in the dark room with the women, you see a police officer walk up to the women and when he tries to arrest her she starts to fight back and leaves everyone in the room laying on the floor hurt which suggests that she knows how to fight. Then you see the suited men enter the building which suggests that something is going to happen between the characters, when they meet the women rushes off and the end of the opening scene turns into a chase scene.
Camera Shots and Angles
This camera shot is a medium shot of a women sitting down in a chair facing towards the wall in the dark. This suggests that see is trying to be sneaky and careful which is probably why see is sitting alone in the dark, The darkness also suggests that she is doing something bad/something that she shouldn't be doing and that's why she is alone in the dark. Being dark creates a sinister/eerie which then can make the viewer uncomfortable or frightened because they don't know whats going to happen.
This camera shot is a high angle medium shot of a police officer, this is effective as it gives the viewer a glimpse the officer and what facial expressions are being used. For example in this image the officer looks unhappy because he's done something wrong and is getting blamed for it which suggests that he should of done this job better and he wouldn't be in this position, the high angle suggests that he is talking to someone that is a higher rank than him and that he has more power over him which suggests that he is taking control.
This camera shot is low angle medium shot a man in a suit standing facing the camera which is effective as it makes the viewer feel that the man is looking at them which makes you feel apart of the film. The low angle is effective because it suggests that the man has more power over you and that he is a higher rank, which suggests why he is dressed up in a smart suit. The medium shot from down the corridor is effective because it shows how far away he is from the camera which means he needs to travel further to reach his target.
