Opening scene to Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
In the opening of the Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull you get to see a car race through a desert/large dry area of land. The car has four young adults in it which are speeding across an open space, when they reach a road you see some army vehicles heading towards there objective which suggests that car shouldn't be in this location. Then you see the car speed up to get to the front of the queue which suggests that they want to race the people in the front, when they reach the front they see two soldiers in the front car and the four young adults beg them to race which they agree to. While racing they both speed away from the other vehicles until the army car has to go in a different direction.
Camera Shots and Angles
This camera shot is a medium shot of a couple of army cars and a small vehicle, this is effective as it shows the difference of size between the army vehicles and the standard car which makes the army look powerful due to there cars being over double the size. This is also effective because it shows the viewer that the army is transporting something or doing a mission which is top secrete which is why they are in the middle of no where and why there is only one person on the road with them.
This camera shot is a close up of two soldiers in a vehicle heading to a camp, this is effective as it shows the facial expression of one of the soldiers which in this image he looks angry/disappointed with the other soldier because he isn't being professional which suggests that the other soldier is younger soldier which still wants to have fun while doing his job. This is also effective because it gives you an idea that this film is going to include the army in it which suggests that there is going to be lots of gun fights/action through out the film.
This camera shot is a establishing shot because it shows the setting of the opening scene and some of the location, this is effective as it shows large amounts of the area which is in the opening scene which then allows the viewer to picture the condition. This is also effective as it shows you how empty the area is which suggests that it is top secret and shouldn't be seen or entered by random people because it holds secrete information which shouldn't be leaked to the outside world.
